The Port Ludlow Art League presents Gail Larson as the organization’s Artist of the Month for May, and Mary Lynn Laker as its Jeweler of the Month.
Larson has worked in oils, watercolor, and collage for many years. A Signature Member of the National Collage Society, she is currently expressing herself in painting acrylics.
Acrylic and collage are the best media for expressing herself in the abstract, the artist noted. Larson generally works with a limited palette, selecting appropriate colors for the theme, giving design, value, and movement as her main focus.
Larson’s artwork will be on display this month at the Sound Community Bank in Port Ludlow as well as online at www.portludlowart.org.
Laker has been creating art most of her life, thanks to her her curious nature and desire to always know how things fit together. This inquisitiveness opened the door to using different materials in her jewelry designs such as silver, bronze, gems, glass, felt, crystals, and stones.
Laker’s jewelry can also be viewed at the Sound Community Bank and online at www.portludlowart.org. It is also on display at the Port Ludlow Art League Gallery.
The gallery is located next to the Sound Community Bank at the corner of Oak Bay Road and Osprey Ridge Drive in Port Ludlow.
