Port Ludlow Art League announces jeweler, artist of the month

Posted

The Port Ludlow Art League has announced its outstanding members for August.

Sharon Zablotney is the Jeweler of the Month, and Patricia Webber has been selected at Artist of the Month.

Zablotney is known for her beautiful glass, silver, and enamel beads. She combines them with a variety of other materials, including zirconia and Swarovski crystals. As an artist, the freedom to take raw materials and transform them into intricate, beautiful designs is the height of Zablotney’s creative process.

Zablotney’s jewelry will be on display in August at the Sound Community Bank, the Port Ludlow Art League Gallery, and online at portludlowart.org.

The gallery is open from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.

Weber has exhibited her artwork in solo and group shows throughout the Olympic Peninsula as a member of the executive committee of the Northwind Art Board of Directors, the founder of the Abstract Critique Group, now in its seventh year, and the program director for the Port Ludlow Art League.

Her art exhibit, entitled “Textures and Gestures,” features abstract paintings inspired by the intricate patterns and textures found in the Northwest’s beautiful and fascinating waters, shorelines, and forests.

Weber’s exquisite paintings have both visual and surface textures that are created by thick application of paints and other mediums.

Her artwork will be on display through August at the Port Ludlow Sound Community Bank and online at portludlowart.org. The bank is located at the corner of Oak Bay Road and Osprey Ridge Drive in Port Ludlow.
