Port Townsend Police Department responded to 132 calls from Dec. 13-19. That number Included twenty traffic stops, four alarms and three reports of disturbances. Here is an overview of those calls.
Dec. 13: Harassment of employees of a local business that received phone calls stating they needed to die and were running a crooked business. The investigation revealed the caller is new to the area, was intoxicated, and did not know anyone at that business.
Shoplifting from local grocery store. Law enforcement contacted the subject and per the store’s request, she was trespassed for one year.
Dec. 15: 500 block of Sheridan Street. A man appeared to be prowling vehicles. The subject was contacted by police, and he stated he was looking at an old car, not prowling.
Dec. 16: Female was reported to be taking her clothes off in public while performing lewd acts. The female was not performing lewd acts when law enforcement arrived but was in partial state of undress. She fixed her clothing and agreed to wear a coat to prevent further wardrobe malfunctions.
Dec. 17: An incident was reported of a person’s phone being hacked from public Wi-Fi at a local hotel. A new cell phone was ordered on their account with a 564-area code. No evidence was found to suggest that the account was compromised locally.
Dec. 18: A rock was used to break a window of a house on 20th Street. There are no suspects currently.
Dec. 19: Officers received information relating to deer being harmed by a motorist intentionally. This case was previously reported and was still under investigation. With the new information, and assistance from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office and the State Department of Wildlife, officers were able to identify the juvenile suspects and make an arrest.
An assault with a firearm occurred in a local hotel. An arrest was made in this incident and no injuries were reported.
An assault occurred at the Bathrooms downtown when a woman attacked another woman unprovoked. The suspect was identified and later booked into custody.
