The Port Townsend Police reported 152 calls for service between Nov. 22-28. In addition to these calls, 23 traffic stops were conducted this week, and officers conducted patrols in requested areas 17 times.
Nov. 22: A parked vehicle was struck by another vehicle on Monroe Street.
• A younger woman stole a large bottle of vodka from a local grocery store. Officers were unable to locate or identify her.
• A $4,200 adult E-bike was stolen from the bicycle rack at the elementary school. It was recovered at the high school. The suspect was arrested for the theft.
• An armed robbery was reported at an area grocery store by an employee. A suspect approached him outside of the store while he was on a break with a knife. No property was taken during the incident, and it is currently an ongoing investigation.
Nov. 23: A complaint was made about people playing loud music on Water Street around midnight. It wasn’t coming from a business, and the people moved on before the officers arrived.
Nov. 24: A report of a runaway juvenile was followed by the juvenile being located the next day.
• Fire was found burning unattended at the base of a tree near DSHS. The fire department extinguished the flames. No suspects were identified.
Nov. 25: Five fake $100 bills were found on the ground downtown. The bills felt like real currency, but the writing on the bills clearly indicated they were not real. Retailers: Please verify currency as authentic, and be aware these bills are in our community.
• A vehicle had an alarm that continued to go off. Officers attempted contact with the owner of the vehicle, but thus far have not received a response.
• A vehicle was parked illegally near Tyler and Water streets. An officer placed a 24-hour tow notice on the vehicle. The vehicle was moved after the officer left the area.
Nov. 26: A woman took about $100 worth of groceries from a local grocery store. They were identified, and probable cause was issued for their arrest.
Nov. 27: Two vehicles were parked in a parking space with electric vehicle chargers. It is a parking infraction with a penalty of $120 to park in a parking space with an electric vehicle charging station if the vehicle is not connected to the charging equipment.
• Near 10th and Jefferson streets, a subject was given Narcan for a possible drug overdose. Upon the arrival of officers, the subject became combative and started hitting himself. He was taken to the hospital for a mental health and medical evaluation.
Nov. 28: A deer was reported with an arrow stuck in its neck near Jackson and Reed streets. Wildlife officers were notified and city officers were dispatched for the animal.
• Four separate incidents of graffiti were reported downtown. Officers investigated this incident and located the suspect. They were booked into the county jail.
