Michael Carroll, a classical pianist, will be performing at the next offering of Candlelight Concerts.

The series, presented by Trinity United Methodist Church, continues with an online show at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23.

Carroll will play for one set with no intermission. The concert program will feature musical selections from some of the classical greats, including Bach, Ravel, Mozart, Chopin, and Scarlatti.

Carroll is a Pennsylvania native who began piano study at the age of 8 and studied with several teachers, most importantly the late Robert S. Van Meter at Clarion State College in Pennsylvania.

Since moving to Seattle in 1990, Carroll has performed a large number of works, both standard and new, in a variety of venues. Past performances include concerti by Mozart, Haydn, Bartok and Poulenc, and many of the standard chamber works as well as numerous solo recitals.

An experienced soloist, chamber musician and vocal/choral accompanist, Carroll also spent 10 years as program annotator and staff pianist for Seattle’s Thalia Symphony Orchestra. Carroll now lives and teaches in Port Ludlow.

The concert will also be simulcast on KPTZ FM 91.9.

Event organizers said half of the donations from Carroll’s concert will be donated to Gatheringplace (https://gppt.org), which provides enrichment programs for the community with an emphasis on adults with developmental and other disabilities. Gatheringplace strives to encourage and nurture creativity, independence and self-expression.
