Goblins, ghouls, Leon Trotsky, an evergreen tree and even a traffic roundabout paraded down Water Street with hundreds of others on Thursday during the Port Townsend Main Street Program’s 28th annual Downtown Trick or Treat and Costume Parade.
Despite windy, chilly weather Thursday, Oct. 31, revelers crowded into the city’s downtown core to strut their spookiest stuff in the community’s annual show of creative, often-clever Halloween costumes.
Much of Water and Taylor streets was closed to vehicle traffic as children, adults and furry friends alike showed off their imaginative outfits, a troupe known as the Dancing Witches of the Olympic Peninsula performed in unison and merchants doled out sweet treats to hordes of costumed children.
