Olympic Music Festival presents virtual series this spring

Olympic Music Festival is hosting a May concert series, “Sounds of Spring.”

The showcase features Grammy-nominated violinist Tessa Lark;  Alice Yoo, a cellist and the cofounder of the Denver Chamber Music Festival; and Julio Elizalde, a pianist and artistic director of the Olympic Music Festival.

The trio have played together for years and are good friends.

“The familiarity, comfort, and understanding that comes with many years of working together and being friends immediately starts us off in a great place,” Yoo said in a press release.

The three artists recorded a series of trios and encores. The first program premiered Sunday, May 9 with an encore presentation set for Sunday, May 23.

Music lovers are invited to enjoy a free event filled with Fauré, Rachmaninoff, Haydn, and many more.

“The difficulties of the last year have only highlighted how important and vital live music is to our communities and helped us reevaluate what is truly important moving forward,” Yoo said.

The recordings will be shared virtually at www.olympicmusicfestival.org.
