The Port Townsend Gallery is featuring two artists for the month of May.
Stephanie K. Johnson, a graduate of the Aristides Atelier at the Gage Academy of Art in Seattle, is a classically trained artist whose career began at a young age. She has traditionally been inspired to use vibrant colors in her oil paintings.
“With this exhibition, it was my goal to celebrate the beauty discovered in our natural world,” Johnson said.
“Whether it is treasured shells found on Port Townsend beaches, sunlit Tuscan hills or freshly picked oranges from a local garden, everything pays tribute to the wonder of nature.”
An acrylic landscape painter, Sally Pfaff uses her medium to tell stories. Water is often a central theme in her work as it shows emotion and mood. Including water in its many different forms, her paintings are larger, more abstract landscapes.
These artists’ works can be seen on display during Port Townsend Gallery’s open hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays to Mondays, or by appointment. For details, visit porttownsendgallery.com.
