With the surge of COVID-19 cases among Jefferson County residents in the past week, multiple East Jefferson athletic events have been canceled as a result.
The Rivals boys basketball team didn’t play its game scheduled for Jan. 11 against Quilcene High. The EJ wrestling team was supposed to host a tournament at Port Townsend High School, but the event was canceled, as well. The Rivals girls basketball team’s last three games were also canceled.
As of Friday, 45 students from Salish Coast Elementary, Blue Heron Middle, and Port Townsend High had confirmed cases of COVID.
