More than 60 volunteers recently provided cloth face masks for the students of Salish Coast Elementary School ahead of their return to class.
“We had some amazing volunteers provide cloth masks for our students and families,” said Dean of Students Tracy Gallegos. “Over 60 volunteer ‘masketeers’ cut, sewed and sorted masks for our families.”
The group — Face Mask Challenge Port Townsend — said it has more than 100 members on Facebook and has made masks to distribute to many essential workers in Jefferson County, including grocery store workers, and long-term care facilities.
“They provided enough masks for each of our students and we are so grateful,” Gallegos said, noting the group is “always grateful for donations to keep their program running.”
