Kayak tours now offered on Marrowstone Island

Posted

Olympic Kayak Tours is now offering excursions from Fort Flagler State Park, led by naturalists with extensive knowledge of local wildlife and history of the Olympic Peninsula and Salish Sea.

The company offers two trip lengths, a five-hour day tour and a three-hour half-day tour.

When conditions are favorable, participants can expect to venture out to the eastern edge of Marrowstone Island and Admiralty Inlet — where they may have a chance to see orcas, gray whales, harbor porpoises, seals and sea lions.

During rougher conditions, the group opts for night-time sunset and bioluminescent tours in the area of Kilisut Harbor between Marrowstone and Indian islands. The harbor affords particularly good viewing of bioluminescence given low light pollution and sheltered waters.
