Trinity United Methodist Church’s ongoing Candlelight Concert series is set to host Joe Euro, a self-described “Classical/Neo-Classical Finger-Style” local guitarist, composer and recording artist, as he performs one full set, with no intermission.

Euro’s performance will also be streamed live at trinityumcpt.org/concerts online, where you will find a link for the Candlelight Concerts, and ways to donate, in addition to the concert being simulcast on KPTZ 91.9 FM.

Admission to the concert is free, albeit with a suggested donation of $15 per person, but all are welcome regardless of whether they donate.

Half the donation proceeds from this concert will go to Euro’s chosen charity, Dove House Advocacy Services. It has grown over the past 45 years from a task force of women to an agency with wrap-around services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and other victims of crime.

Euro’s Candlelight Concert performance will feature acoustic instrumentals employing various “open tunings,” hammer-ons, and pull-offs highlighting not only his own compositions, but also some classical guitar pieces.

Euro also expects to play jazz standard arrangements and improvs, as well as a few of his own “Ambient Space Guitar” creations, which utilize digital reverb and volume pedals.

Euro has been developing and experimenting with his sound ever since he moved to this area, back in 1979, when he would bring his guitar into the bunkers at Fort Flagler. There he and his wife Katy lived and ran the youth hostel that operated there at the time.

Euro also explored the acoustics of the Fort Worden cistern, which inspired his mesmerizing “Big Spacey Sound.”

Euro’s music has been featured on broadcasts around the world, including NPR and PRI, as well as some film and video productions.

Euro’s day-job is owner and proprietor of the Wine Seller, a retail wine, beer and bottle shop on Water Street in downtown Port Townsend, that he founded in 1982, and has become one of Washington state’s oldest and finest wine and bottle shops.

Euro’s studio recordings can be streamed on audio sites including Spotify, Pandora, Amazon Music, Apple Music, Tidal and Rhapsody, while his CDs are available at his shop.

Trinity United Methodist Church is located at 609 Taylor St., across from the community center in uptown Port Townsend.

Attendees are advised to arrive early on Thursday, Sept. 26, as doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with the show at 7 p.m.

Masks are encouraged but not mandatory for in-person attendees.
