The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 207 calls for service between Friday, Dec. 2 and Friday, Dec. 9. Below are selected reports.
At 6:50 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 in Chimacum, someone called 911 and immediately hung up.
A dispatcher called back and spoke with a man who wanted an ambulance for someone who had hit his head on a counter at the business.
A deputy discovered the man had a scuffle with another employee. The victim, a 57-year-old man, was conscious and breathing.
The man said he wanted to drive himself to the hospital and left the scene.
A deputy responded to the business and was told the man slipped and fell and law enforcement was not needed.
After talking with both parties at the incident, a deputy learned a verbal dispute had escalated when one man became angry with a situation concerning the fuel system and grabbed the other person’s hat and physically moved his head up and down.
The other man pushed him away, then took a swing and missed. He then fell and hit his forehead on the counter, causing a laceration.
At 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 in Port Hadlock, a caller said someone had been on the property in a black SUV and had backed into a fence.
A renter on the property had witnessed the incident, and said it was another renter who had struck the fence.
The caller said there was no need for a law enforcement response as the caller would speak to the renter directly.
