The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to 333 calls for service between Friday, Sept. 3 and Friday, Sept. 10. Below are selected reports.

At 7:34 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 5 in Port Ludlow, a caller reported a dispute with a neighbor.

It’s been an ongoing issue. The caller said she had been trading words with a neighbor about gunfire.

She provided a deputy with the names of some of her neighbors, and she said they were using equipment to track her.

The woman said she was afraid for her life, but did not have any evidence of any threatening actions by her neighbors.

A deputy expressed doubt at the woman’s version of events.

She said, “Well, take me to a crazy hospital then.”

The woman said she wanted authorities to sweep her house to remove items that had been put inside to track her.

She reminded the deputy of an earlier incident that found she was being tracked, and that surveillance equipment had been installed on her vehicle. The deputy noted that allegation resulted in her car being examined by police and the car dealership, and determined the woman had found the vehicle’s wiring harness, which officials said was not actually a tracking device.

The woman asked to speak to a supervisor because she was not happy that no one was responding to her request to have her house swept of electronic monitoring equipment and cameras.

Authorities tried to get the woman to talk with a mental health crisis worker, but she said she was going to be out of town and couldn’t.

At 4:04 a.m. Monday, Sept. 6 in Chimacum, an alarm-monitoring company sounded alerts of a burglary in progress at a retail marijuana establishment.

The alarm was triggered by a motion detector at the front and back doors.

Deputies responded and found no one inside the building.

The pot shop reported the total loss at $20,421.52.

An inventory was planned to see what was missing, and police were given video camera footage.

The investigation is continuing.

At 11:53 a.m. Monday, Sept. 6 in Quilcene, a hiker on a trail near Falls View Campground found a red mountain bike. It had a basket and other spare parts.

The hiker had seen the bike on the trail the week before and it was still there.

A deputy located and photographed the bike. The caller was advised to call the ranger’s station.

At 2:04 p.m. Monday, Sept. 6 in Chimacum, a caller reported a man in a black Mercedes who was parked on the side of the road in Beaver Valley and was smoking heroin.

A deputy responded and followed the vehicle to the QFC. Nothing illegal was found.

At 6:22 p.m. Monday, Sept. 6 in Port Hadlock, a caller reported finding two bags. One was leaking fluid and there were a lot of flies around.

The caller thought something dead was inside the bag.

A deputy responded but the bags could not be found.
