The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 236 calls for service between Friday, May 27 and Saturday, June 4. Below are selected reports.

At 12:11 p.m. Friday, June 3 in Chimacum, a man wanted to report a burglary but was not sure of the address.

He said he had gone to his mother’s property, and there had been an ongoing issue of people breaking in. He said he arrived at her house that day and found the door was open.

A deputy responded and determined the home had been burglarized sometime since February.

At 12:45 p.m. Friday, June 3 in Quilcene, a caller said somebody had said he was going to beat up and also hurt his friend.

The suspect was contacted and said the other person had sprayed rocks on his car the week before when he was pulling out of the driveway.

A deputy made several attempts to contact the first caller with no success.

At 4:02 p.m. Friday, June 3 in Port Townsend, a caller reported a case of forgery. He had received paperwork on the title for a junk vehicle and found his name has been forged.

A deputy noted the signatures were not consistent. A report will be made to the prosecutor’s office for a review and potential charges.

At 6:32 p.m. Friday, June 3 in Chimacum, a woman reported a suspicious man on her property.

The woman sounded drunk and was slurring her words.

A deputy responded and found a man who was on the property and was working to clean up the driveways.

He said the woman had been lying on the ground and calling for help, but when he tried to help her, she became agitated. He said he was only on the property at the request of the landlord.

The landlord vouched for the man, and said he was allowed to be there.

The information was shared with the woman who called 911.

At 9:48 p.m. Friday, June 3 in Port Hadlock, a caller said someone had backed up a vehicle to some patio furniture outside the QFC, then loaded up the vehicle with thousands of dollars of merchandise and drove away.

A manager at the store reviewed video and checked receipts, and determined the person who had taken the items had indeed purchased the merchandise before loading up and driving away.
