The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 207 calls for service between Friday, Dec. 2 and Friday, Dec. 9. Below are selected reports.
At 7:37 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2 in Port Hadlock, an employee at Jefferson Healthcare reported a man had come into the emergency room the day before to get treated for a dog bite.
The man said he had been bitten by a dog on a trail by Mill Road.
The bite broke the man’s skin.
The victim said the animal was a medium-sized dog. The patient was described as a transient.
At 10:14 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 in Port Hadlock, a man said he was calling on behalf of a woman who wanted another woman trespassed from her property.
The unwanted person was a transient woman who had been at the house the night before when people had been hanging out.
The woman was told she could spend the night, but she declined.
The property owner, however, woke up the next morning and found the woman in the house.
A deputy responded to the property but no one would come to the door to sign the trespass order.
The homeowner was told to call again if the homeless woman returned and a deputy would respond.
At 3:39 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 in Port Hadlock, a man said someone had entered his storage unit and had stolen multiple items.
The man had been at the storage unit earlier in the week and had put his own lock on the unit two days earlier.
The broken lock was not found at the scene.
