The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to 252 calls between Saturday, June 25 and Friday, July 1. Below are selected reports.

At 11:10 a.m. Saturday, June 25 in Forks, a caller reported a burglary. A horse saddle was stolen, but the caller was not sure when it happened and could not name a suspect.

At 7:57 a.m. Sunday, June 26 in Brinnon, a wallet was stolen from a house in a campground.

A bridesmaid was suspected of the theft.

The wallet contained a debit card, credit card, and cash.

The caller did not want to provide any additional information and did not want to press charges.

At 10:23 a.m. Sunday, June 26 in Port Ludlow, a resident reported threats and harassment from a neighbor.

The caller said a neighbor got in his face and started yelling. He also said he put his hand on the neighbor’s chest to push him away.

The caller said if the man comes on his property he will shoot him in the face. The caller did not know the person’s name, but said he usually comes onto the neighbor’s property to shoot guns.

The caller said the man was now leaving. The caller also said he was driving himself to the hospital because the neighbor pushed him and his shoulder was hurting.

The other man involved in the dispute also called authorities.

Each side said the other was the aggressor, and they both claimed to be the person maintaining the easement.

A deputy determined neither man actually owned the property.

The dispute apparently began when one man was mowing the easement while the other was picking up sticks nearby.

One of the men said the other man who was mowing sprayed clippings on him as he passed and a verbal argument followed.

At 9:23 p.m. Monday, June 27 in Chimacum, a caller said two juveniles were on the roof at the school and breaking things.

A deputy responded and found two juveniles behind the school. Their parents were contacted.

One of the youths said he was just hanging out.

There was no apparent damage to the school, but skylights had been broken out during an incident at the school the week before.
