The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 239 calls for service between Thursday, May 19 and Thursday, May 26. Below are selected reports.

At 10:58 a.m. Monday, May 23 in Port Hadlock, a caller near the Redeemer Way and Chimacum Road intersection reported a combative resident at the Peter’s Place tiny house village.

The combative person was a woman in her 30s who was yelling and screaming at the time of the call. Peter’s Place staff told the sheriff’s office that the matter will be handled internally with a case manager.

At 4:49 p.m. Monday, May 23 in Port Hadlock, a theft was reported at a construction site in the 100 block of North Maple Street.

A caller told law enforcement that a toolbox, tools, and other construction items had been taken, and identified a potential suspect. The estimated value of the stolen construction items was in excess of $1,000.

Deputies were able to locate the suspect, and after finding some of the stolen items in man’s possession, he was taken into custody. The man, a 36-year-old Port Hadlock man, was also trespassed by the construction company.

At 9:31 a.m. Tuesday, May 24 in Port Hadlock, a person at a laundromat in the 1800 block of Irondale Road was asked to leave several times by employees.

Deputies arrived in the area and issued the person a trespass admonishment.

At 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 25 in Port Ludlow, a caller at the Port Ludlow Village Market told the sheriff’s office that they suspected someone had stolen gas from their pump. After starting to pump gas and heading to the restroom, the caller came back to a max-out message on the gas pump screen and $100 charged to them. The caller’s tank wasn’t full and they said it never costs $100 to fill the vehicle.

The caller is in contact with the store and is waiting to receive video surveillance from the gas station’s cameras at the time of the incident, and law enforcement will further investigate the situation.
