Posted

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 230 calls for service between Saturday, July 2 and Friday, July 8. Below are selected reports.

At 10:42 p.m. Monday, July 4 in Quilcene, a woman said her boyfriend was harassing her.

He had started siphoning gas out of her motorhome, but when she saw him, she pulled the hose away from him and gas spilled on the ground. The boyfriend then threatened to light the gas.

She said the boyfriend was leaving and was in his truck trying to start it.

He came back a few minutes later and then left again. The boyfriend was last seen driving south on US Highway 101.

A deputy responded. The woman said they have an ongoing relationship issue that is drug- and alcohol-related. The woman was intoxicated, and said she was worried about the boyfriend driving drunk. She was not sure where he could have gone.

The deputy searched for the truck without success.

At 8:31 a.m. Tuesday, July 5 in Brinnon, a resident said transients tried to get inside a vehicle on the property and also tried to steal things from the porch sometime around 4:30 a.m.

A tenant had heard someone “scrounging around” on the porch.

The caller was mostly concerned about people camping on nearby Forest Service property for an extended period of time.

At 8:56 a.m. Tuesday, July 5 in Brinnon, a manager at the marina reported getting a threatening email from a person who had been evicted.

The email was reviewed, but it did not contain any direct threats.

The manager was advised they could pursue an anti-harassment order in court.

At 10:10 a.m. Tuesday, July 5 in Quilcene, damage was reported at cabins near Lords Lake. The owner of the property said someone had vandalized the premises, and thought it might be transients who live in the area.

The caller said the cabins have been broken into since last summer.

The incident is under investigation.
