The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 244 calls for service between Saturday, April 30 and Friday, May 6. Below are selected reports.

At 2:43 p.m. Wednesday, May 4 in Quilcene, a woman reported a case of fraud.

The suspect in the case was a teenager who had earlier been accused of stealing from her sister.

The caller was the girl’s mother, who said she had discovered her credit card had been used for more than $1,000 in purchases, some of them online.

The caller wanted to press charges.

At 1:49 a.m. Thursday, May 5 in Brinnon, a caller heard a door slam and saw a vehicle parked on Schoolhouse Road with no one around.

The caller thought it was suspicious.

The vehicle had been parked there about 30 minutes. The caller was worried someone was prowling in the neighborhood.

A deputy resounded and the vehicle looked abandoned. It was tagged for towing.

At 8:18 a.m. Thursday, May 5 in Brinnon, a caller said a neighbor was making threats after the man started to cut foliage on his property.

He said there had been an ongoing issue about the property line when the man cuts his grass or cuts limbs, and the neighbor gets angry.

The neighbor got mad about the situation and said he would “come down and take care of him.”

A deputy suggested the man get a court order, and was told the wording used by his neighbor was volatile but did not reach the level of harassment.
