Jefferson County Toastmasters will hold a virtual Halloween storytelling event from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29.
Christopher Summitt will be the storytelling guest, delivering his story: “Haunted Battlefield - Little Big Horn 1985.”
Summitt lived and worked as a ranger historian at Custer Battlefield in the 1980s, during the era of the archaeological surveys. He was involved with research, official correspondence with other historians, and telling the story of Custer’s Last Stand, always within the shadow of that small cluster of markers where the fight ended in 1876.
Little Big Horn has a reputation as one of the most haunted sites in the West. As Summitt puts it: “The dead are not quiet there.”
In addition to Toastmasters’ storytellers, the group will have some audience fun with impromptu stories.
