January show features art from Share & Explore sessions

Posted

Port Ludlow Art League members who have participated in the league’s monthly Share & Explore sessions will be featured as the Artist of the Month in January.

The Jeweler of the Month is Georganne Muse.

Muse fashions eye-catching bracelets, necklaces and earrings to compliment any ensemble. Working with both gold and silver, she enhances her jewelry designs with semi-precious stones, such as Aquamarine, Carnelian, Citrine, Chalcedony, Garnet, Pearls, White Topaz, Tourmaline, and Sleeping Beauty Turquoise.

Share & Explore is a demo and hands-on, two-hour session meant to spark creativity by exploring a new art technique or medium. Instruction and supplies are provided for a nominal fee.

Some of the art techniques and mediums the sessions have explored in the past two years include encaustic, watercolors, pastels, abstract art, alcohol inks, acrylics, needle felting, Gelli monoprinting, collage, making paper, marbling paper, paper mache bowls, jewelry, shadow box, Sumi-e, mandalas, jewelry, fabric dying, zen rocks, and assemblage.

Share & Explore meets the first Friday of each month. Reservations are required. For those interested in learning a new art technique or medium, email info@portludlowart.org to receive monthly invitations.

Examples of the art techniques and mediums featured at the monthly Share & Explore sessions will be on display at the Sound Community Bank at the corner of Oak Bay Road and Osprey Ridge Drive in Port Ludlow.

Muse’s jewelry is also being showcased at the Sound Community Bank, the Port Ludlow Art Gallery, and online at www.portludlowart.org.

People interested in a purchase can email info@portluldowart.org to make a sales appointment or drop by the Port Ludlow Art Gallery between noon and 4 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays.
