Instead of transparency, Howard calls names

Theo Howard would have better served the public by using his letter to the editor to assure the public that he has no financial conflicts of interest with Mayor Faber. Theo should have let the public know his intentions with Smart Urbanism LLC and Olympic Housing Trust. Theo should have educated the public on housing laws, policy and environmental laws, which is his expertise, instead of focusing on the “credibility” of  “the local crank.”

Theo is in the public eye, makes a living with public dollars, is involved in affordable housing projects and nonprofits. Theo Howard intended on being a council member, until his connection to the Mayor financially was exposed in the newspaper. Theo is a pro bono lawyer paid by tax dollars, working with the “unwell” and impoverished people for the Clallam-Jefferson County Pro Bono Lawyers Housing Justice Project. Theo gets referrals from the CLEAR hotline with the Northwest Justice Project for legal help for the “unwell.”

And yet he focuses his valuable knowledge on one “unwell” local crank.

Theo is in a for profit business with Mayor David Faber called Smart Urbanism LLC, which is a real estate holding company that owns two lots near the golf course. Why not let the public know his intentions? Theo is the President of Olympic Housing Trust, which was Homeward Bound and responsible for the Cherry Street Project, said to be the biggest taxpayer fraud in Jefferson County history. Why not assure the public this will never happen again?

Mayor Faber recommended the Olympic Housing Trust build homes on the Golf Course.

The “local crank” has no ongoing political relevance, why focus on her?

Perhaps instead of making fun of some local crank with a theory, Theo Howard should simply set the record straight with facts?

My name is irrelevant to the process, and no citizen needs “credibility” to question the actions of the local government. I hope to show that all citizens are equal and can speak out regardless of their alleged “credibility.”
