To the gentleman driving the large red pickup with the “Culp” signs on it: A few thoughts, in no particular order of significance.
You are welcome to support a fringe candidate who received only 17 percent of the primary vote. That is your right.
You do not, however, have the right to enter downtown businesses without a mask and then refuse to leave. That is criminal trespass. The presence of “Proud Boys” in the recent parade of Culp supporters did nothing to gain any support in Port Townsend.
The Proud Boys are a nationalistic, anti-Muslim, anti-immigrant, misogynistic, fascist hate group founded in 2016 by Gavin McInnes. Way to keep it classy.
As a result of your behavior, I am committed to voting with my dollars, which means not buying any more gas from the Shell station at the top of Sims Way, as well as any other businesses that show visible support for Trump or Culp.
