The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 218 calls for service between Saturday, Dec. 18 and Friday, Dec. 24. Below are selected reports.

At 8:36 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 19 in Port Hadlock, an overnight burglary was reported.

A caller said it happened the previous night; items had been taken from the garage, put in a wheelbarrow, and then a tarp was put over the wheelbarrow and it was rolled away.

A deputy found the wheelbarrow and returned it. It had been taken from an unlocked porch attached to the house.

Nothing appeared to be missing.

A deputy suggested the resident get a security camera.

At 3:54 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20 in Chimacum, a resident reported the theft of items that included cookbooks, jewelry, and other items of sentimental value.

The missing things were valued at approximately $1,000. A housekeeper is suspected of the theft.

The case remains under investigation.

At 6:18 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20 in Port Ludlow, an attempt to serve a man with domestic violence paperwork was initially unsuccessful.

The resident, from Twisp, would not come to the door. He could be seen inside the home but would not open the door.

He was again contacted as he was leaving and was served.
