Ian Eisenman was the first New Year’s baby on the peninsula on Jan. 1, 2008. Seventeen years later, on Jan. 6, 2025, he earned his Private Pilot’s License. His FAA examiner was the local aviation superstar, Summer Martell. I am Ian’s grandmother and I and all of his family here on the peninsula are so very proud of him and his dedication to achieving the first step in his dream of becoming a commercial pilot. We thought his accomplishment would be newsworthy and shine a light on the wonderful teenagers in our community, as well as the Aero Museum and the outstanding youth program and the flight instructors. (A thank you to Peggy Thuotte for your vision!)
