Gallery-9’s new set of featured artists are Carolyn Doe and Roberto Costa Ribiero. For the month of May, both Doe and Ribiero’s works will be showcased in the gallery window with their full displays inside.

Bringing unique and creative designs to their art, these two artists share a common inspiration from nature.

Doe is a self-taught silk batik artist and oil painter.

She uses pure beeswax and silk dyes to create images of nature on silk fabric. Her oil paintings depict wide horizons with stately trees, or a small bird on a slender branch.

“I’m not one to say a lot about my art. It comes from a feeling place, something I can’t put to words. I want those who are drawn to my art to experience their own feelings and thoughts around it,” Doe said.

For 28 years, Ribiero has been making jewelry.

He was born and raised in Brazil where he learned the basics of silversmithing from a friend.

Over the years, he has developed his own styles and techniques, learning primarily by experimentation. He crafts each clasp, hoop, post and bezel individually. Gallery-9 will be showing a stunning selection of his creations from earrings to rings to pendants and much more.

Gallery-9 is open from noon to 4 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays.
