Evelyn Michelle McHenry (Evie) 42, of Port Townsend, Washington, passed away on Nov. 1, 2022, due to complications from cardiac arrest. Evie’s family was by her side when she passed.
Evie was born on July 14, 1980, in Port Townsend. Survivors include Evie’s parents and stepparents Jerry and Tammi Rubert, Rex and Debbie McHenry; daughters Phoebe and Emma McHenry; bothers Patrick, Mike, Ross McHenry, and Christopher Rubert; sisters Meghan and Hazel McHenry; grandparents Norman and Judy Nolan; and extended family uncles, aunts and cousins.
Evie attended Jefferson Elementary in Port Angeles, Wash., and finished her schooling in Port Townsend. Evie regularly attended First Baptist Church with her grandma Judy.
Evie’s greatest joy was her two girls, Phoebe, 23, and Emma, 17. Evie was a stay-at-home mom due to a chronic and disabling illness. At the time of her passing, she lived with Emma and her beloved cats Jude and JJ.
Evie was a kind, caring, and loving person. Those who knew and loved her say she was a bright star with a smile that never ended.
There is a memorial service for Evie at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at the First Baptist Church of Port Townsend, 1202 Lawrence St. Family and friends are welcome. Please come and bring stories about Evie that you keep in your heart and make you laugh.
