A 31-year-old Port Ludlow woman escaped injury in a two-car crash on Highway 104 Thursday east of the Hood Canal Bridge.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 63-year-old Darrington woman, was hurt in the collision after her Hummer H3 crossed the center line, hit another vehicle, then went off the road and 55 feet down an embankment, where it landed on its top.
The woman was taken to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale for treatment.
The wreck happened just after 11 p.m. March 2 on Highway 104 near Rainier Avenue, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The State Patrol said the Darrington woman was heading east on the highway, and her 2007 Hummer was pulling a trailer when it crossed into the other lane of traffic and struck a 2011 Hyundai Elantra driven by the Port Ludlow woman.
The Hyundai, which was headed west, came to rest on the west shoulder of the highway.
The cause of the crash was speeding too fast for conditions, according to the State Patrol, and the Darrington woman is facing a charge of second-degree negligent driving.
