Deadline looms for library’s film festival pass giveaway

The library wants to send you to the movies.

Sort of.

The deadline to enter the Jefferson County Library’s contest to win Port Townsend Film Festival passes is Monday, Sept. 14.

“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Port Townsend Film Festival and Jefferson County Library are not able to host free cinema screenings this year,” explained JeffCo Library spokeswoman Brwyn Griffin.

The library is instead holding a random drawing for a six-pack pass to this year’s virtual movie-fest.

Would-be entrants can access the form at www.jclibrary.info/ptff-2020-festival-is-going-virtual.

“With these passes, recipients will be able to choose up to six films to stream with accompanying filmmaker interviews over the 10-day festival period,” Griffin said.

Free Wi-Fi is available in the library parking lot 24/7, she added, and the library has WiFi Jetpacks (mobile hotspots) available to borrow to boost your home signal.
