Conservation district begins native plant sale

Posted

The Jefferson County Conservation District will begin taking online orders for bare-root native trees and shrubs on Friday, Dec. 2.

To aid customers in plant selection and care, the district is offering a free two-part workshop series.

A workshop on Thursday, Dec. 8 will focus on how to select the right plants depending on the site, followed by another on Wednesday, Jan. 11 on care and planting.

Both workshops will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Jefferson County Library in Port Hadlock.

Orders for plants will be taken through Jan. 27 with order pickup scheduled for Feb. 25.

Details about plant offerings, pricing, and workshops are posted on the district’s website at jeffersoncd.org.

All ordering will be done online by credit or debit card, and there will be no in-person sales on order pickup day.

Accommodations can be made for customers who are unable to order online. Call the district at 360-385-4105 for assistance.
