Tina Louise Woods of Bremerton was found guilty on 15 counts for her role in a months-long Jefferson County burglary spree in 2023.
The jury returned a guilty verdict on April 30, convicting Woods on one count of residential burglary, six counts of burglary in the second degree, two counts of theft in the second degree, five counts of malicious mischief in the third degree and one count of theft in the third degree, according to a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) press release.
Jefferson County Prosecutor James Kennedy praised the conviction: "This outcome reflects our commitment to protecting Jefferson County. The teamwork between our deputies, prosecutors, and regional partners was critical in stopping this crime spree. We urge residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity.”
The crimes occurred between June and October 2023, impacting areas across the county, including Port Townsend, Chimacum, Quilcene and Brinnon. Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Anna Phillips prosecuted the case.
The investigation began in June 2023 when JCSO Deputy Adam Newman responded to a residential burglary on Osprey Ridge Drive. The suspect had shattered a rear glass door to gain entry and stolen over $3,200 worth of items.
Using Ring camera footage from the house and available photographs, JCSO sergeants Derek Allen and Bret Anglin identified Woods as the suspect.
On June 30, 2023, a deputy confirmed that a suspect had broken into the Chimacum Post Office, stealing surveillance hard drives, a Cisco router, $500 in cash and several packages, with a similar method of forced entry to the Osprey Ridge Drive burglary.
In October of that year, a second wave of burglaries occurred in Quilcene and Brinnon, with Woods — driving a stolen Acura — the suspect.
JCSO located the Acura at Woods’ residence in Bremerton and obtained a search warrant leading to the recovery of the stolen vehicle and a backpack linked to a Kitsap County burglary victim, along with a stolen boat, trailer and Ford F350.
The recovery led to Woods’ arrest on Oct. 24, who was found hiding inside a dresser within her residence.
Woods will be sentenced on May 23 and faces upwards of 63 months in prison.
She awaits sentencing in Kitsap County for one county of residential burglary, one count of burglary in the second degree, one count of possession of a stolen vehicle, and one count of possession of stolen property in the second degree. She has pending felony charges in Clallam and Thurston County.
