Brotherton has served our county well | Letter to the editor

Greg Brotherton has served this county well during his first term as a county commissioner. His energetic dedication and commitment to the diverse needs of the people in our county is an important reason we should return Greg to the board this year.

As a neighbor to the fairgrounds, I witnessed the impact of the unregulated encampment on the neighborhoods, the fair association, the service providers, law enforcement, and the campers. Greg stepped up and met the challenge in a complex and highly charged issue, bringing people together to meet and discuss the matter at weekly stakeholders meetings. He worked relentlessly and with amazingly good cheer to find a place for the unhoused to go after the eviction moratorium was lifted, and collaborated with human service providers to create a plan to build upon that.

Greg is always seeking to find ways forward and positive resolutions to problems. He brings energy, compassion, and excellent communication skills to resolve problems so that life in our county is better for all. He is accessible and listens to people. He is a leader we can work with, and I urge you to join me in re-electing Greg to the Board of County Commissioners.
