The Brinnon School District will benefit from state funds to buy new laptops for its students.
The funds will help the district replace older, second-hand laptops for its pre-kindergarten through fourth-grade students.
At the school district’s last meeting, Superintendent Patricia Beathard said a total of 80 laptops are being acquired for students in the district.
The district recently received community donations of about $10,000 to purchase laptops for Brinnon’s middle-schoolers, as well. In addition to the donations, funds that were left over in an account used by the recently shuttered Brinnon Parks & Recreation District were gifted to Brinnon School District to purchase the computers.
