Blame Obama, Chinese —anyone but Donald

The daily Boston Globe, in an editorial Monday. declared Donald Trump “a president unfit for a pandemic” who has “blood on his hands” because “much of the suffering and death coming was preventable.”

Many Americans insisted it was real news when Donald assured them early on (Jan. 22) that “We have it totally under control. It’s going to be just fine.” And many of those people or their loved ones likely now are dead. The U.S. had 56 cases of Coronavirus as early as Feb. 26. but Donald continued to paint a rosy and wishful-thinking picture of the Stock Market and disregard the untested virus. “One day—it’s like a miracle—it will disappear.”—Donald Trump.

As of Tuesday afternoon (March 31), at least 156,391 people throughout the country had tested positive for the virus, according to a New York Times database. At least 3,433 patients with the virus had died. (And the Stock Market has tanked to about the lowest point in history.)

Other self-serving lies along the way: “Anybody that wants a test can get a test” (March 6) and “No, I don’t take responsibility at all” (March 13)—Donald Trump.

When the truth struggles its way to the fore through the meaningless presidential briefings on TV, Donald can always turn to the proven tactic of distraction. The Chinese and Obama will be getting a lot of attention as he swings to luring the racist, white supremacy vote for the coming election.

Obviously we aren’t properly equipped right now in either the Oval Office or around the country, to keep up with reality in the
alternate universe of Donald Trump. Take a look at the map here to get a true picture of the coronavirus: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/us/coronavirus-us-cases.html

The stimulus bill was completed about two and a half months after the president began scrambling to rescue the Stock Market while pretty much ignoring public health needs. The large involved document contained a bit of pork for about everybody when it was presented to the House about 10 p.m. one night. The House’s blind acceptance of the bill was not about to happen. It was amended some to fit its original purpose and passed by Congress Friday—despite almost immediate efforts by slimy Mitch McConnell, Trump flunky snd Senate majority leader, to make it appear that Democrats suddenly were opposing aid to the country’s health care workers.

AND WE SHOULD BE PRAISING DONALD? FOR DOING WHAT ?
Only 70 cases of the virus were reported in the country just a month ago. Yesterday that total was 173,741 and 3,433 individuals had died. The pandemic is expected to peak about mid-April and then level off and continue well beyond Trump’s latest off-hand prediction of June 1. A study by the University of Washington goes only as far as 82,141 dead in the U.S. by Aug. 4. After that is anyone’s guess.

Just a week ago the president, unconcerned with the dead and dying, wanted the economy up and running by Easter, April 12. Would he actually prostitute the spirit of Easter in such a macabre manner?

Well . . . our always money-minded president has been frantically concerned with the Stock Market for around two-plus months, while lying to us about the serious nature of the coronavirus—which has just spread and spread. His attitude and lack of leadership obviously will be to blame for a large part of well over 100,000-plus deaths.

A March 24 HuffPost article was basically a letter to the president from young ER doctor Rachel Sobolev, who wrote of risking her own life 12 hours a day and of being forced to choose among others because of a lack of equipment and facilities. Dr. Soboley said (to the president): “On Tuesday you told Fox News you would ‘love to have the country opened up and raring to go by Easter.’ You said you chose Easter because ‘you will have packed churches all over our country. I think it would be a beautiful time and it is just about the timeline that I think is right.’

“The thought of that makes me nauseas. If we do that exponentially more people will get this disease, our hospital system will not have the capacity to handle it and health care professionals like me will have to let people die . . .”

This week, a minister in Florida was arrested for filling the pews, despite current laws. He’s out on bail.
