Beverly Ann Clements, 87, of Port Ludlow passed away on June 9 th from the deteriorating effects of vascular dementia due to a stroke. She had been residing at Victoria’s Place in Port Townsend the last couple years of her life.
Beverly was born in Boston Mass to Murry Moore and Mary Magdeline Casimoridge in 1937. She had one brother, Harry ‘Buddy’ Moore from Madison Illinois. Beverly worked for a time at Ryan Aeronautics in San Diego around 1955. She met Arthur Howard Taylor at Ryan and they married the following year. They had one son, Kenneth Charles Taylor.
Beverly spent most of her career as a legal secretary and then later as an executive secretary, working for S.A.I.C. in San Diego CA. She married her second husband, Carter Clements, a travel writer, in San Diego in 1976. From 1976 until Carter’s death in 2007, she traveled the world and experienced the many cultures the world had to offer. Beverly retired in 2000 and bought a home in Port Ludlow. She was a sharp dresser and carried herself as such, and always maintained an absolutely immaculate home.
Some of Bev’s, as she liked to be called, hobbies were crossword puzzles, cooking for friends and family as well as spending a Friday or Saturday night at ‘The Wreck Room’ in Port Ludlow sipping on a Vodka Dubonnet. She lived a great life and will be sorely missed in many places, by many people.
Beverly is survived by her son Ken Taylor and his wife Cody Griffith, both of Port Hadlock WA, her grandson James Taylor of Port Townsend, WA as well as her nieces, Kathi Brown of San Ramon CA, Barbara Apostolo of Miami FL, Deborah Moore of Killeen TX and her nephew David and his wife Sandi Moore of Aptos, CA.
Our family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of Victoria’s Place Senior Living in Port Townsend as well as Assured Hospice of Sequim for the kindness and care they showed her during her time there and to her final days.
