With what would have been the Rhododendron Festival’s Grand Parade on Saturday, May 15, the Rakers Classic Car Club took it upon themselves to go ahead with the previously postponed festivities.
Adorning their vehicles with the celebrated flowers, the car club rolled through Port Townsend in a flashy flurry of honks and waves. They began their afternoon cruise into town at Lawrence and Benton streets, making their way onto Water Street to catch all the eyes in the bustling downtown.
Candy-painted in pristine technicolor, the posse on wheels brought the much needed spirit of the Rhody Fest with them.
