David Crozier, Kiwanis Pacific Northwest governor-elect, couldn’t stop smiling.

“Kiwanis is all about kids,” he said. “An all-access playground is just right up Kiwanis’ street,” he said.

As some of the club’s fundraisers were tabled due to the pandemic, generous donations from several people made a significant difference in funding the playground project. Crozier named Ed Zinsur, Gloria Atkins, and the Kiwanis PNW Foundation as generous givers, and wanted to thank Judy Lundgren, owner of the Hilltop Tavern, for hosting a bingo event for the playground fund. Kiwanis presented the project a check for $20,278.

Her faced framed in a soft blur of black fur, Cronmiller, OlyCAP’s executive director, was in high spirits, and most adequately dressed for the weather of the group.

“I’m from the Midwest,” she said.

Turning serious, she looked over the construction site that is well on its way to becoming affordable housing for 43 families, and will include an early learning center.

“I’m excited, and I think everyone involved in the project is excited to see it happen,” she said.
