The Port Townsend Police Department received a total of 93 calls between Friday, Dec. 24, and Thursday, Dec. 30. Below are selected reports.

At 9:14 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 25, a caller in the 1100 block of Water Street said she was concerned about an unhoused man she knew. Officers met with the man, who said he was OK. The woman called once more for information on the man.

At 8:40 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, a female caller in the 1100 block of Water Street requested a welfare check for an unhoused man who was sleeping outside. Officers provided the man with a hat, socks, an MRE, blankets, and resources for the warming and homeless shelters. Officers gave the caller and the man a courtesy ride back to the woman’s home.

At 11:05 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, officers responded to an alarm at the 1600 block of Sims Way. When they arrived, it was determined the building was secure and that it was a false alarm.

At 1:27 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, a caller complained of silver and blue cars doing donuts in a parking lot in the 400 block of 12th Street.

At 2:19 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, a caller reported that a business in the 200 block of Taylor Street had a door ajar. Officers arrived and found nothing amiss; however a bird had found its way into the building. Officers captured the bird in the break room and released it outside.

At 2:48 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, a caller in Port Angeles said a friend from Port Townsend  was supposed to come to dinner but had not showed up. The last time she had contact with her friend was when she was driving through Sequim, asking for directions.

Officers obtained the address of the Port Townsend friend, who lived in the 1400 block of Lawrence Street, and went to the door. The woman was home. She said she had a hard time with the directions and had turned around and gone home.
