The University Women’s Foundation of Jefferson County, an affiliate of the American Association of University Women Port Townsend, is seeking applicants for its university, community school, and technical school scholarships.
Applications are due by March 5.
Finalists will be notified in late March and may be asked to interview in April. Scholarship recipients will be informed in early May, and awards will be presented on May 6.
The $11,000 Elmira K. Beyer Endowed Scholarship is awarded annually to a woman from East Jefferson County who has completed at least one year of university study and wishes to continue her education. An additional $8,500 scholarship based on the same criteria will also be awarded.
Additional university scholarships include the $4,450 Constance Anna Pash award for women already in college pursuing STEM degrees; the $6,700 Lisa T. Painter Endowed Scholarship for women who plan to study law, fine arts, or health care disciplines (graduating high school seniors, or women already in college); and the $3,000 UWF Environmental Scholarship for women who wish to study environmental science (graduating high school seniors or women already in college.)
High school seniors graduating in 2021 can apply for a $4,000 High School Scholarship — one scholarship each awarded to students from Port Townsend, Chimacum and Quilcene high schools.
One or more Technical Career Scholarships of up to $5,000 will be awarded to women from East Jefferson County who wish to pursue their education at an accredited technical school or community college.
