This was presented at the same Council meeting where Council ignored public input and OK'd "temporary" mess tents through December. Not enforcing parking and not having any plan was also spoken about. Compounded manufactured problems damaging business and visitors.

I began my comment May 16 to Council talking about failing our kids with Government like Council that ignores public input. That was not covered in the Leader.

From the Free Press-

"What impacted me most that was not expected was watching the Award to and presentation by the local High School kids. What a show. They were in favor of a City Ordinance regarding limiting vehicle idling. It was full of lots of details no one will enforce.

They left without knowing laws and codes here are only a recipe idea that some make a living playing with and or ignoring. Actual serving up will not resemble package representation. They left not knowing that public input is not followed. The City Attorney has discretion. Obviously. The City Manager has discretion. Obviously. The City Council as a unit has no clue.

Council showed they really don’t function as a critical thinking group and fell like a played out fish on a time line that didn’t need to be, against overwhelming public input that said “this (mess tents) is a terrible and not needed negative idea’.

Here is to being young and naive and innocent.

The kids left early. They didn't see reality. They should come back and propose that City Government follow its own laws and codes.

For a real more in depth understanding for adults and kids alike see this article (link below) that links to several more articles regarding mess tents and the failure of your City Council yet again.

You who are on the road, must have a code, that you can live by.

Teach your children well............ by example.
