I’ve been associated with The Leader in all phases since 1944 (part-time printer’s devil at 40 cents an hour)—and I can say it has risen tremendously in stature in recent years—especially under its recent ownership, publisher, editor and overall staff. Bill Mann certainly can count himself among the true journalists who have moved onto the local scene. The Leader has held up firmly in the face of the anti-Free Press faction led by the lowbrow likes of Donald Trump, and our paper is a small-town New York Times in today’s world.
