Trump followers seem determined to destroy our environment as necessary to serve the brevity of their personal existence. The rest of us can see beyond our own noses.

And it’s not as if Donald Trump had retired. Next up for him will be the 2022 Congressional elections. While he cannot then yet personally run for a second term as president, he can work in various ways to set the stage for 2024.

In 2022, Donald will have slogged through a remaining year-plus of criminal charges emanating from his presidential term. But as he yet will be able to contend for another turn at running the country, neither will anyone else be able to for a couple of years. We can watch him undercut a number of likely future possibilities just to keep the camera focused on the Trump name.

By 2024, son Donald Jr. will be 47 at year’s end—and Donald himself, eligible perhaps despite his court experiences, could be a 78-year-old candidate . . . if he’s still alive and not .legally adjudged insane.

Who knows?

Between now and the critical control of Congress in 2022 will be the continued ravings of the man who claims he lost the popular vote by 3,000,000 but won the presidency via the electoral college in 2016—then had the same election somehow “stolen” from him while losing the same popular vote by 7,000,000 in 2020.

Near as can be determined, the thing actually being viewed as “thievery” in wizened minds was the opening of polls to more Blacks, Chicanos and other fringe units that have been held in check over years past by the political Right. Red-State legislatures throughout the country even now are unabashedly hastening to close polling and ballot-pickup sites, shorten polling hours, limit acceptable IDs, etc.

The ends, to the conservatives, justify these means.
