New case of COVID-19 found in Jefferson County

The number of COVID-19 infections rose to 85 cases in Jefferson County Friday, Jefferson County Public Health officials announced.

The new case of coronavirus was linked to a Port Townsend man in his 60s.

Health officials have reported five new cases of the coronavirus in the county since Monday.

A total of 10,129 patients have been tested for COVID-19; negative test results have been received in 10, 014 of the cases through Friday.

Test results are still pending for 30 patients.

County health officials said 71 patients in Jefferson County have recovered from COVID-19 and are no longer hospitalized.

No deaths in Jefferson County have been linked to the coronavirus.

So far, 43 COVID cases have been found in Port Townsend residents; 31 in mid-county residents; and 11 in south county (Quilcene, Brinnon, and West Jefferson).
