The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 279 calls for service between Saturday, July 23 and Friday, July 29. Below are selected reports.

At 8:49 p.m. Monday, July 25 in Port Hadlock, a woman said she was receiving threatening texts.

She said she was getting messages from an unknown suspect who was on her friends list on Snapchat, and the person was threatening to beat her up.

The caller was advised to unfriend the person and block any future messages.

At 9:36 p.m. Monday, July 25 in Chimacum, a deputy pulled over a suspected impaired driver near Milepost 9 on Rhody Drive.

The driver was taken into custody.

At 10:24 p.m. Monday, July 25 in Chimacum, a caller reported hearing a single gunshot from across the street.

The caller said the noise came from a retail marijuana store.

A deputy responded and determined the noise was made by fireworks.

At 12:50 p.m. Tuesday, July 26 in Nordland, a caller reported a burglary.

The owner of the home had been in the hospital since having a stroke, and the caller said it appeared someone had moved into the house in the past couple of months.

A deputy responded and found the back door unlocked. The house appeared to have been ransacked and items had been thrown around.

It was immediately unknown what was missing, but a list would be made to determine what had been taken.

At 1:34 p.m. Tuesday, July 26 in Port Hadlock, a man said he was having an issue with a neighbor and had been threatened.

The caller said the neighbor threatened him when the caller asked him not to water his lawn.

A deputy spoke with the resident and determined that no threats had been made, and the neighbor had only made comments about the request to not water the lawn.

The resident was advised to go to court to obtain an anti-harassment order if he thought it was necessary.
